The following writing is my overall reflection of all the hard work i put in to this class.  SELF REFLECTION PIECE When it comes to choosing my favorite movie, I can never pick one. However, when it comes to my favorite historical film it definitely has to be  Schindler’s List.  This film in particular has always caught my attention due to the fact that it is about the Holocaust. This has always been a very interesting topic in my opinion because the Holocaust is a never-ending learning topic in my opinion. I think my subject was an interesting topic for my paper because it is something everyone should know about. While writing this research paper I learned many new strategies along with things I never knew about the Holocaust. For example, the small activities that Professor Jay Lewenstein had us doing, really helped me write a very well-organized research paper. I also found that actually doing annotations in our articles helps a lot! I had been taught of this...

For English class we did a few surprise quizzes which I had much fun with, this is one of them: SURPRI SE QUIZ- ACT 3 SCENES 1 Act three scene one of the play M. Butterfly takes place in a courthouse in Paris. In this scene Song is testifying her side of the story to a judge. The judge is asking him whether Mr. Gallimard was aware of him being a man or not. He replies with a series of two rules. Rule one was “Men always believe what they want to hear.” This rule had a lot to do with his relationship with Rene. Rene wanted to be with an oriental woman which is why he believed Song was a girl. Although Song was hiding her private parts from Gallimard he still believed he was a girl because that is exactly what he wanted to hear. At the end of it all I believe that this is the only reason why their relationship was going on for so long. Gallimard believed her although she was never open about her sexuality. Rule two was talking about the West rape mentality towards the East. So...

SCHINDLER'S LIST: THE LIST OF LIFE In Mr. Lewenstein's class, we were required to do a research paper in a historical film of our choice. We worked slowly by working on paragraphs individually which made everything run so smooth. This is some of the work that I was able to do throughout the semester JAY'S THREE PART INTRODUCTION The Holocaust was a very dark time for everyone, especially for the Jewish. During World War II, the innocent lives of many Jews were taken for no reason. Fortunately, there were very few of those who felt compassion for the Jews and saved a couple of lives. Towards the end of the film “Schindler’s List,” there is a scene in which the Jews hand Oskar a ring in thanks to him helping them. Instead of Oskar thanking the Jews for the ring, all he could say was “I could have done more.” This is something that truly touched my heart because he truly wanted to help as many Jews as he could. Although Oskar was able to save over a thousand lives, an...

For this assignment, my group and I chose one song that related to the scene that we chose from the play M. Butterfly, this is how it turned out: SOUNDTRACK OF YOUR READING Explanation of How the Song Fits Our Scene:       The John Legend’s song, “All of me” connects perfectly when you compare it to the play  M. Butterfly  by David Henry Hwang. It delivers the way Rene Gallimard is expressing his love to Song Liling. Since Rene has come to a point of wanting to go further on his relationship, and by asking Song whether she will devote herself to him by the question, “Are you my Butterfly?” This shows how he is dedicating himself all to her, but the question is will she dedicate herself to him completely like he wants. So, all Gallimard is doing is declaring his love “Cause all of me [Rene]” and that, “Loves all of you [Song]”. The lyrics just flow with the scene also there is a lyric that states “How many times do I [Song] have to tell you [Rene]”...

Character Analysis I am doing my research paper on the movie Schindler’s List. That main character in this historical film is Oskar Schindler. Oskar was a self- centered, money seeking man who was only trying to find ways to make more money through the war. In the film, Oskar was a tall and thin man who had a passion for any woman who crossed his way. He always wore his hair back and it was always neatly- groomed. Throughout the whole movie, Oskar had a dominant type of tone. He always knew what he wanted and worked to get to where he wanted to be. In the beginning of the film, Oskar was focused on himself only. He only thought about ways to make more money and about getting with different types of girls. However, throughout the film, he started to grow sympathy towards the Jewish which led him to help them. He later made a list with names of thousands of Jews to save. He hired them in his factory making pots and pans and lat...

Hi, my name is Ivette and welcome to my blog! In this page, I would like to introduce myself and talk a little about me. (I am the one on the left side.) I am 20 years old and currently attend Imperial Valley College here in Imperial, California. I have many goals in life but one of my greatest aspirations I have is to one day become a college psychology professor. I love Psychology and find it interesting which is why I would love to teach it one day. One of my greatest skills I would have to say is being kind and compassionate. I love helping others and making sure they are well. In my opinion, there is no better feeling than being able to help someone and knowing how much of a help you were for him/her. Although by looking at my face I may not seem too nice, I promise you, I AM! I love working for what I want and I love to struggle a little to get the things I want. Imagine how boring life would be if we could get anything we want without a problem. Sounds like fun ...
